About Ballet, Tap and Modern

Ballet provides the dancer with the necessary skills which are transferrable for all aspects of dance and dance styles.

To begin, posture is the core essence, technique, musical interpretation and improvisation, energy and stamina building, developing grace for performance and presentation.

Younger children improve co-ordination and fluidity of movement, spacial and musical awareness. The fun of mime and story telling through character dance.

For the serious minded, it is a classical style of expressive movement.

From beginners to advanced there is something for everyone.

Modern Jazz is an exciting style of dance which can be slow and lyrical or fast and dynamic

The freedom of movement creates suppleness and flexibility and students are encouraged to develop self expression and individual style. We incorporate current music and steps leaving everyone feeling invigorated and energised by the end of the class.

Tap is a rhythmical form of dance with light and shade, beats and steps, pattern and directions

It is just as popular today as it ever was, introducing new styles, steps and music.

The younger children love to explore the sounds they create. The Juniors and Seniors perfect the clarity of the intricate rhythms which is both a joy to see and to hear.

Our History

Miss Rosalind and Mrs Clifton

I had my first lesson aged 3, performing in Shows and taking many exams, I went on to gain my teaching examinations.

My Mum is an accomplished pianist and in 1984, we opened the doors to our dance academy in East Hull, bringing the joy of dance and music together, sharing it with the children and continue to do so to this day.
